Redemptorist Statement on 2 of their detained priests in Ukraine
Two Redemptorists, Ivan Levytsky CSsR and Bohdan Heleta CSsR, parish priest and vicar of the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, were arrested by the Russian occupation administration in Berdyansk, west of Mariupol. They were accused of subversive activities against the occupiers, the Donetsk Exarchate of the Greek Catholic Church said in a statement.
Pope Francis’ address to the Redmeptorists
Addressing the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer, Pope Francis encourages the Redemptorist missionaries to “rethink” their Alphonsian charism in the light of the signs of the time, and warns against the hardening of the heart which hinders the renewing action of the Spirit.
Redempotists elect Fr Rogerio Gomes CSsR Superior General
The Redemptorist family have elected a new Superior General, Fr. Rogerio Gomes, CSsR. Most recently Fr. Rogerio was a consultor from the Province of Sao Paolo, Brazil. We join with our Provincial Fr John Hodgson in Rome to congratulate him from the Province of Oceania.
