Travelling Renewal

Trees in the outback

The “Travelling Renewal Programme” (TRP) is a special outreach of the Australian Redemptorists in rural and regional Dioceses across Australia.  In the spirit of our Founder St Alphonsus, and our long mission tradition in Australia, we recognise the special needs of people in country areas.

The “Travelling Renewal Programme” (TRP) makes for a precious time wherein parish life and faith are deepened, strengthened and refreshed.

Moved by compassion for the poor, especially those living in the country districts, who at that time formed a considerable section of the population, Saint Alphonsus …..founded the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer .
- Prologue to the Constitutions of the Redemptorists

Usually, for two, three or four weeks, a parish encourages people to set aside this special time for renewal.Through preaching, adult faith education, celebration of the sacraments, work in the Catholic schools, and being with people, the Redemptorist missionaries together with the parish embark on a journey of enlivening faith and letting the Good News speak with renewed energy and vitality.
