Spirit Dreaming, Earth Responding, Living Laudato Si’

10 September 2017 – 27 September 2017 | General Interest

How are you planning to celebrate the Season of Creation in 2017?

Catholic Earthcare Australia invites you to St Clement’s Retreat Centre in Galong, NSW, for Spirit Dreaming, Earth Responding, Living Laudato Si’ – a Symposium & Retreat for anyone seeking to integrate Laudato Si’ into their way of being on Earth.

The Laudato Si’ Symposium and Retreat will explore the deep spiritual connection between place, people and culture through dialogue and collective action. Purposefully transforming our organisations, schools, health and social services, parishes and communities to respond to the ecological, economic and social crises of our times.

Symposium presenters from diverse backgrounds will share their unique insights into the global and spiritual challenges we face including: Aboriginal Australians, Theologians such as Prof Denis Edwards & Dr Tony Kelly, Economists such as Dr Ross Garnaut and Dr Bruce Duncan. Biblical scholars such as Dr Elizabeth Dowling. Cultural and Environmental Historians such as Rev Noel Connolly, Dr George Main, Health Professionals such as Dr Katrina Anderson MD, Local Agriculturalists such as David Marsh and Catholic Earthcare Australia Director – Jacqui Rémond.

The Laudato Si’ Symposium and Retreat offers opportunities for deep listening, relaxation and reflection in nature that will bring alive the vision of Laudato Si’. The symposium program includes a visit to the Floriade Spring Festival, the Australian National Museum. Participants will also be invited to explore the healing of a Labyrinth walk, co-create a Zen meditation garden and enjoy a remedial massage. The retreat will be led by Fr Pat Corbett and Spiritual Director Dr Kerrie Hide.
